My journey with SaiNrityala School of Dance has been one of the most defining parts of my life. Every pratice, performance, and challenge carried lessons that helped define who I am today. I began learning Bharatanatyam at the age of 7, stepping into a world of discipline, expression, and tradition under the guidance of my guru, Shaila. Through years of training, I learned that Bharatanatyam is not just about movement—it’s about storytelling, devotion, and connecting with something greater than yourself. My guru, Shaila, has been more than a teacher. She has been an anchor, a mentor, and a constant source of inspiration both in dance and in life. Her encouragement, critiques, and teachings inspired me to dance and eventually fall in love with Bharatanatyam. Looking back, I’m grateful for every moment I spent with the SaiNrityala family.

Learning Bharatanatyam for 12 years under the instruction of Smt. Shaila Sateesh at SaiNrityalaya Academy has been an incredibly meaningful journey for me. Through her guidance, I developed confidence, perseverance, and a deeper appreciation not only for the art form itself, but also for the rich Indian cultural heritage associated with it. Preparing for various performances and productions at venues such as the Hindu Temple of Florida and the Sarasota Opera House allowed me to stay connected to my roots while becoming part of a close-knit community dedicated to an art form greater than myself.

When I eventually conducted my Arangetram, a debut performance following years of rigorous training, I felt that my dedication, technical growth, and storytelling abilities had culminated in a truly memorable experience. Her teaching style always emphasized not only the technical skills required, but also the meaning and purpose behind each of the dances and stories, allowing me to better understand and deeply value my culture. I will always cherish the lessons, passion, and commitment she has shown toward her students and toward preserving this ancient art form.
